Pure natural salt without additives for your horse! The stones come from the foothills of the Himalayas in Pakistan.

Makana salt licks are licks made from pure rock salt. This salt is more than 250 million years old and therefore free from the pollution of today's seas and contains a high variety of essential minerals and trace elements as they were found in the primordial sea.

After being mined in the salt mine, the stones are individually processed and classified by weight. The stones are then drilled through to provide a means of attachment to the salt lick holder. The stones are washed in brine and dried in the sun. After drying, the stones are individually wrapped in foil and boxed. In this way, contamination is avoided and the stones are protected from dust and dirt.

Makana salt licks are food grade and can be stored dry indefinitely. In contrast to industrially manufactured and pressed stones, these salt licks are also far less sensitive to moisture.


origin/manufacture
Our salt licks come from the northern part of the Salt Range in Pakistan. The distance to the snowy peaks is about 150-200km.
