Chia belongs to the family of lamiaceae, native to South and Central America. The seeds of this plant are a valuable food additive.

manako® Organic Chia Seeds (Salvia hispanica) are rich in:

Chia Seeds are almost tasteless and mixed with water they form a clear gel-like consistency.

Stir approx. 15 g (1 - 2 tablespoons) chia seeds into 400 ml water or fruit juice. After 20 minutes a gel has formed, which you can take throughout the day. Stir several times during the swelling time.

Pure chia seeds: chew well! This breaks up the hard shells and releases the valuable ingredients.

NOTE: A daily intake of 15 g must not be exceeded. According to the Commission's implementation decision of January 22, 2013 on the approval of an extension of the uses of chia seeds as a novel food ingredient in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 258/97 of the European Parliament and of the Council, the use of chia seeds may not exceed 10% in baked goods, breakfast cereals, mixtures of fruits, nuts and seeds.
